Wake Forest Store Manager
Kyle Drewry
Growing up, Kyle had many encounters with trouble. He would be mischievous, get caught, and be corrected for what he had done wrong. Like all things of this world, however, it may have helped, but, of course, his behavior change was only temporary. As a man, he found that he had really changed very little over the decades. He became homeless; he blamed everything and everyone—family, friends, co-workers, situations, and more. Yet, when he came to the Durham Rescue Mission after being homeless a second time, he finally knew then that this was all my doing.
Having only been at the Mission a short while, Kyle went to church for the first time in his adult life on Christmas Day 2016. As the songs the choir sang echoed around him, he knew that he needed something that would change him—something not temporary but eternal. He decided to pray and found his Savior in Christ Jesus. Kyle saw that he was a sinner in need of redemption; he saw that he was lost and in need of a shepherd; he saw that he needed forgiveness for all the things he had done wrong in his life. Kyle finally saw “the Light.”
Kyle received something then, something terrific he didn’t deserve, and avoided the punishment that he indeed deserved. Since that morning, he was a new creature and has been transforming ever since.
For by grace Kyle was saved, and His mercy endureth forever!
